New surge in gas prices in the Montreal region

The retail price of gasoline jumped again overnight in the Montreal area, where the price per liter of regular reached its highest level for several years.

On Monday, the liter of regular gasoline hovered around $1.33. It went up 14¢ in one night to bring the price of the ordinary liter to almost $1.48 and gasoline super to $1.63.

In addition to Laval and Montreal, gas prices remained stable elsewhere in the province.

Currently, the average price per liter of regular gasoline is around $1.34 in Quebec.

The price of a barrel of crude oil rose Monday night from US $0.26 on the NYMEX stock exchange in New York to US $ 70.96.
